RIGHT WAY TO EAT

Position:

The right way to eat and drink is neglected in our society now a days we see people sit and eat at the dining table. The first thing that can be covered is the right way to eat is on the floor and keep our plate on a short height platform about 2-3 inches. It gives you the earth element which is one of the five elements out of which our body is made as per naturopathy. The second thing that can be covered is when we sit on the floor with our legs crossed, our abdominal part will be little pressed. While eating at a table, the distance between our mouth and plate is very less while sitting on floor the distance is more which creates a perfect posture. The digestion will be proper.

Environment:

While eating, our environment should be pleasant with no distractions, no laughing and no talking when you eat. This helps saliva to mix properly with the food which helps in better digestion. When we are not concentrating while eating and performing another task, we won’t exactly know the requirement of our stomach, we don’t be able to enjoy the taste of the food. Even if we are unable to chew food 40 times each bite, we should at least try to concentrate on food and avoid vibration in the environment. Give at least 20 minutes to eat so that it digests properly.

Correct way to eat:

We should eat slowly and properly to ensure that the hard food is converted into semi liquid form before reaching our food pipe. Proper churning of food will lessen the load on organs. This reduces the burden on our digestive system and prevents loss of calories.

Number of times we should eat:

We should eat cooked food twice a day in order to ensure proper digestion and absorption of food. Before eating cooked food, we can eat uncooked or predigested food.

Food Schedule:

Start your day with alkaline and fiber rich food, which is easy to digest, also include seasonal foods and fruits in breakfast.

Lunch should be a proper meal as it provides energy for the entire day. As non-veg food takes more time to digest, we should avoid eating food for dinner and instead eat it for lunch.

In dinner, we should have light food. Eating food in proper digestion helps to stay energetic throughout the day. We should eat food at a fixed time, breakfast should be eaten between 8 am – 10 am, lunch should be eaten from 12- 2 pm and dinner should be eaten before sunset, i.e., 6:30 pm or at max 8 pm.

Food Proportion:

The right proportion of cooked and raw food is 60:40. Raw food includes salad, vegetable juice, fruits and nuts. Eating food in its raw form maintains alkaline of the body and the pH level of the body. Cooked for is prepared with fire.

Our body adjusts its temperature with climate. Our intestine warms the water and food this called as endothermic, therefore drinking chilled water will put burden on our intestine. We can mix cold water at room temperature if necessary. We should drink water whenever we are thirsty.

Time and quantity of water:

The quantity differs from person to person. In general, we should drink 2 – 2.5 liters of water per day. Excessive water puts pressure on the kidney. If the brain cells are full of excessive fluid it can lead to stroke, Alzheimer, memory loss, sudden trauma or coma.
