EYE CARE (PART 3)

Color blindness is not only a physical problem but also a psychological problem. Color blindness the word itself suggests that one cannot identify colors. When a person cannot differentiate different shades of colors it is called color blindness. If one cannot differentiate the colors of traffic signals, when one cannot identify the colors of fruits while buying or one cannot see the colors through their vision then that person is having color blindness which is disturbing their routine lifestyle. A person will be distressed, disturbed, under stress or demotivated after seeing things which are colorless.
Types of color blindness

When a person goes to the doctor to identify the type of blindness it states that if a person cannot see red and green color then that person is Red-green color-blind category.
If a person cannot see blue and yellow color, then that person is Blue-yellow color-blind category.
If a person cannot see any colors and cannot identify any shades, then that person is in the totally blind category. This is due to damage to both rods and cones cells of the eyes. Specifically, cone cells play a major role in resulting blindness. When the message to the brain through cone cells is not passed and it affects the messaging system then this states color blindness.
A person cannot differentiate between brightness, color shades or various colors which lead to this problem. 90% of the cases are due to hereditary and genetics problem. Due to any major eye problems or eye injuries the person faces color blindness. Science has developed shading glasses for the ones who are in the first two categories of color blindness. This color blindness would lead you to be a helpless person sometimes as one can lack different career options in their lives.
Diagnose
The Ishihara test is done in which 27 different shades are placed over the chart in the form of dots and one needs to identify the exact shades. And accordingly, the person is put in the specific categories. Chromosome treatments are available for the same but are limited.
The causes are genetics so these can be cured earlier but if it is due to other reasons then that would be difficult to come up with any solutions.
Some type of illnesses such as Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease are responsible for color blindness.
