Many of us are so focused on looking good that we forget to stick to the basics and focus on our health. We will never achieve our ideal physique if our health is not in order, so it is always best to prioritize health first.
Most attempts to build a stronger, leaner, healthier body fail because we focus on the outside rather than the inside. A well-functioning body is likely the most important of all the processes required for a head-turning physique, and sacrificing your health for a temporary gain is a sure recipe for failure.
To keep your body functioning at its best, you must ensure that all of the processes involved are not overburdened with toxins and overwhelmed by poor lifestyle choices.
The majority of us do not live in the proper manner. We eat the wrong foods, don’t get enough sleep, are stressed out, and don’t get enough fresh air. We can’t expect our bodies to function properly after all of the abuse we subject them to.
It’s funny how we get so frustrated when our bodies don’t respond the way we want them to when all we have to do is listen to what the body needs. The human body, like a high-performance race car, requires proper fuel, maintenance, and service to ensure peak performance and longevity. If we take care of our bodies, the bodies will take care of everything else.
The acid-alkaline balance of the blood must be stabilized through the food we eat, so we must provide the body with a steady supply of potassium, magnesium, calcium, and sodium because these important minerals help neutralize the acid wastes that accumulate when we consume proteins, sugars, and starches.
Acid wastes are also particularly hazardous because they are suspected of causing a variety of health problems and chronic diseases.
Proteins are acid-forming foods, and we must consume alkaline-forming foods to offset the acid wastes produced by protein consumption. This means you should probably eat a lot more vegetables with your chicken breast than you normally do.
Finding the perfect balance can be difficult and confusing at first, but a good starting point is to maintain an 80% alkaline and 20% acid ratio. That is, in order to maintain a healthy, balanced pH, you must consume 80% alkaline-forming foods and 20% acid-forming foods.
Proteins and carbohydrates are acidic, whereas vegetables and fruits are alkaline. Because nearly all of the body’s metabolic wastes are acids, we need to eat alkaline-forming foods like fruits and vegetables to help neutralize these acid wastes.

Now, just because a food is acid-forming does not mean you should eliminate it completely from your diet or avoid it for an extended period of time. It simply means that you shouldn’t overdo it and that you should only eat about 20% of your food from the list of acid-forming foods. With the exception of a few, many acidic foods are actually quite good for you.
To summarize, try your hardest to follow the 80/20 rule. As a result, your health and physique will greatly improve.
For optimal health, the body must maintain a balance of acidity. When the body becomes too acidic or alkaline, it can lead to serious health issues.
Acidosis is characterized by a high level of acid in the body, resulting in a pH imbalance. If the kidneys and lungs are unable to eliminate excess acid, serious health problems can occur.
