The markets and malls are full of processed and packed food. And blindly large number of people purchase them without any research. If we talk about Indian processed industry, they cross over $1.2 millions of turnover. There are least people who still stick to indigenous products. Instead, being an Indian we have our own regional and seasonal thali at home. That food would be much healthier than processed food. Nowadays people prefer protein bars which are frozen or processed. Instead, vegetarians can prefer paneer, almonds, peanuts or cashew nuts as they are rich in protein. Similarly, non-vegetarians prefer chicken and eggs. In each region there is some or other variety found with respect to lentils, pulses, and grains. This is what the beauty of every region or a country is, and its food has ample nutrients and proteins. In a survey, it is found that there are 5 blue zones in which the average life of a person is 73 years and there are people who live many who live more than 110 years.
In WHO’s research they found out Okinawa in Japan, Icaria in Greece, Ogliastra in Sardinia, Costa Rica in Nicoya, and Loma Linda in California because the peoples living in those regions prefer only natural source food and no packed or processed food. They have a proper scheduled life.
In India, we are blessed with varied culture which has scientific meanings behind it. Talking about rich delicacies in India we have sabzi, roti, dal, rice, khichdi, fish and chicken according to every area and region. Preferably, there are different types of oils according to seasons such as if a person stays in cooler place go for mustard oil whereas the ones who stay in humid place, should go for peanut oil. Likewise, there are various regional oils available in various regions. The coconut oil and clarified butter (ghee) are proven to be the oiling things to our cartilage and bones.
The world has accepted the spices of India as one of the best homemade medicines. These are our day to day used common spices. Consuming frozen foods lowers down, the immunity and energy of the person. There are 3 ingredients which are harmful such as high preservatives, excessive salt and various food colors. Preservatives kills good bacteria from our gut health. It triggers breathing problems. It also weakens the heart and muscles arteries. It also creates plaque and can cause cancer. The reverse effect of these preservatives is dangerous. It will be a two-sided benefit because your food that you made will also not be wasted and you will have a good appetizer.
Nowadays, it is observed that people microwave their daily food to make their cooking work easy. One should avoid industrially packed food and switch to homemade food. Increasing the shelf life of processed products by adding preservatives can be dangerous. Acral lentiginous is a cancerous content found in the food color. There are the least interested people who are keen to check every pack’s content, and which is the biggest backlog for an individual. Salmonella a bacteria found in a chocolate by a famous Swiss chocolate company. A reputated company itself is under obscure about this thing.
Heart attacks at early age, kidney problems, early age puberty, breathing problem, various types of cancer, weakness of bones, decreased metabolic rates, early menopause, PCOD, PCOS, increased number of youngsters having specs and hyperactive generations are by every individual because of the excessive use of preservatives and processed food.
The bakery products have potassium bromide, a content which is cancerous for the human body. Secondly, sodium benzoate, which is used in jams, juices, sauces,etc. which can damage nephrons and are responsible for cancer. Trans fat is another content which is used mostly in vegetable oil along with hydrogen to increase the shelf life of the product which can increase a person’s bad cholesterol or the palpitation of the heart. This indirectly increases the plaque in arteries. Another one is fructose, which is the artificial sweetener used in any of the products such as muffins, candies, ice-creams and cookies that contains fructose. Aspartame again is the preservative used as artificial sweetener in lo calories food. Another preservative is sodium nitrate which is used in hot dogs, burgers and sausages and results in migraine, headaches, asthmas and lung infections. Propyne Galois is another preservative used in frozen non-vegetarian foods. Potato chips and ready to eat soup are responsible for causing stomach cancer. The artificial colors are the worst which is good in looking only.
